Hi, I’m Meg.
I love traveling, mainly abroad, but due to COVID-19, started traveling within Japan a lot as we could not go abroad.
I’d like to share some highly recommended beautiful hotels in Japan for those who are interested in Japan/thinking of visiting Japan.
One of my favorite hotels in Kyoto is the Ritz Carlton Kyoto. The room of my recent stay was Kamogawa river view room (shared here) with an excellent dinner and breakfast (shared here).
Let me show you the gorgeous Corner Suite KITA room I stayed in 2019.
1. Living room
You’ll instantly notice that it’s gorgeous the moment you open the door.
You can see how spacious the room is upon entering.
There was a separate bathroom decorated with a beautifully Japanese atmosphere by the door.
Mini-bar in a living room.
On the counter top, Nespresso machine, even a separate Tea machine, mini-fridge under it.
Tea set for the Japanese tea.
Water bottles are so cool!
Tea machine with tea capsules.
Living room viewed from the mini-bar side. Huge screen TV and a huge window with a Kamogawa river view.
Living room viewed from the window side of Kamogawa river.
Sitting area was designed inspired by the Japanese Engawa (verandah).
Small Bonsai by the window and a box of welcome gift (sweets).
The speaker in a room was a high-end model of Bang and Olufsen which was the same one as in a suite room of Gritti Palace in Venice we stayed before.
2. Bedroom
Corner suite is one bedroom suite, so there’s a spacious bedroom next to the living room. Sofa and another huge TV.
The bed was so comfy with Simmon’s mattress.
Bathrobe, Yukata and slippers in a closet.
Security box in a drawer.
3. Basin and a bathroom
Bathroom was also spacious.
Second bathroom.
Large bathtub with a bath pillow and a beautiful cherry flower (Sakura) petals fluttering wall.
Hand shower and
my favorite rain shower.
The basin has double bowl
and the middle part of the mirror (blue part) was a TV!
Asprey bath goods.
Asprey soap and a hand made organic facial soap of KYOTO SHABONYA with a very nice scent of Hinoki (Japanese cypress).
Two kinds of bath salt, Yuzu blend and Hinoki blend by Kyoto Shabonya.
In a drawer, you’ll find a beautiful Japanese lacquer tone box
with bath amenities in it.
Suite room at the Ritz Carlton was so gorgeous and beautiful, and your experience here would be unforgettable. Naturally it costs a lot but if you are lucky, you may be able to book with fewer points and upgraded to a suite room! (fingers crossed)
Fall (November) is the best season in Kyoto because the autumn leaves are so gorgeous there, but it also means the most crowded season, unbelievably crowded.
Though crowded, Kyoto is the most popular city in Japan and I strongly recommend you visit Kyoto when you come to Japan!
